| Abstract. | Problem statement. The purpose of this article is to review the theories and concepts of public spaces and their types. Results. The main results of the research are recommendations for the development of a model for the development of public spaces in the territory of the former industrial zones in the middle part of the city of Kazan, taking into account theoretical and experimental practical experience. Conclusions. The significance of the results obtained for architectural practice is that the proposed approach of purposeful development of public spaces will ensure the formation of systems of new diverse public spaces. Thanks to this process, the social interaction of the city residents is intensified, the economic development of the territory is stimulated and the ecological rehabilitation of the former industrial territories is promoted. |
