Title of the article | The use of hydrodynamic cavitators for water disinfection |
Abstract. | The article presents the results of studies, in which the main hydraulic characteristics and ejecting ability of a hydrodynamic cavitator at different modes of operation were identified, optimal operating parameters of the hydrodynamic cavitator were determined, and its ability to disinfect natural waters in combination with the ejection of ozone-air mixture from a UV lamp was evaluated. An installation consisting of a pump, a hydrodynamic cavitator and an ozone generating UV lamp was used for the researches. Two series of experiments were carried out: with a hydrodynamic cavitator of standard design and after the installation before the inlet of a vortex generator. The use of a tabulator made the work of the hydrodynamic cavitator more stable and increased gas ejection by 12-15 %. The researches showed that hydrodynamic cavitators may be used for water disinfection; they are effective mixers allowing stable ejection of both gas and liquid media. |
