| Abstract. | The paper deals with a new structural solution of a composite steel and wood (flitched) I-beam that consists of two wooden chords joined by the light-gauge steel web plate with buckles. The design data of a prototype model of the I-beam and results of experimental research and the assessment comparing stress and deflection level with theoretical calculation data obtained from the different analytical models are given. |
