| Abstract. | The article gives a brief description of the traditional Tatar coloring on examples of residential development in rural settlements of the Republic of Tatarstan. Folk wooden architecture of Tatarstan has a unique polychromy, which suggests «Tatar-style» use of color in architecture. The predominant colors are blue, green, yellow, white in a variety of contrasting combinations. Typical is striped coloring wooden cladding of buildings, a rich plastic and color decoration of the pediment and the gate. At the present stage of development of Tatarstan architecture national coloring is embodied, in particular, in the reconstruction of cultural heritage objects. An example of this process is the reconstruction of several blocks of Old-Tatar Sloboda in Kazan. Historically, the Old Tatar settlement was formed as a center of spiritual and economic life of the Kazan Tatars. The basis of building amount to urban mansions and mosques. In the reconstruction of these blocks it was tasked with creating a center of tourist hospitality. In reconstruction activities require primarily the construction of urban estates. The problem of reconstruction of national Tatar coloring is the lack of accurate historical color data and the heterogeneity of blocks. Part of building – stone city estates built by exemplary design the second half of the XIX century. Colors followed the traditions of Russian urban architecture, which was reproduced in the reconstruction of the block. During the reconstruction of the partially or completely wooden buildings was chosen restoration of the national principles of composition and color wooden buildings in rural settlements. In some cases, the result of this restoration cannot be called successful. In the end, the combination in a holistic reconstructed environment so different color systems creates accented heterogeneous and in some cases disharmonious color picture. |
