Abstract. | The article examines the historical process of solving the housing problems in Russian cities since the middle of the XIX century up to the beginning of the twentieth century. Since the middle of the XIX century architecture of urban housing has become a central theme and the main object of design. For this reason, the article analyzes the main trends and architectural problems in the housing area of the XIX century. Identify the main types of urban housing, formed during this time, and volume-spatial characteristics. We study the economic, social and political, domestic preconditions and conditions of pre-revolutionary property. Was developed in the middle of the XIX century, a new type of housing, formed the basis for subsequent very residential construction, with the construction of apartment buildings is still relevant for many Russian cities, as it allows a more diverse living environment. Already, there is a tendency to revive the idea of the apartment building in accordance with the modern concept of rental housing. |
