| Abstract. | The task of forming a middle class without providing appropriate housing and environmental conditions is impossible. What kind of housing should be built in Kazan today for it to be successful tomorrow? Low-rise housing is considered quite relevant within urban areas in many countries. High density low-rise developments are comparable to high-rise developments in terms of its techno-economic and social indicators. We need a psychological breakthrough in the minds of all those associated with residential construction. The low-rise residential developments typology and possibilities of forming a diverse urban environment is considered, as well as its urban, architectural, planning and compositional potential. The use of modern technologies and materials ensures a high level of comfort at a relatively low cost. Introduction of new types of low-rise residential development in Kazan requires appropriate scientific, technical and project support. |
