| Title of the article | Research of the microclimate of religious buildings on the example of the Resurrection Church in the city of Kursk |
| Abstract. | Problem statement. The study of the microclimate of the Resurrection Church in Kursk is an urgent scientific problem due to the need to ensure the preservation of architectural structures, wall paintings, iconostases, and other objects of church art, as well as to maintain comfortable conditions for parishioners during worship services. The formation of the internal environment parameters in a church building is determined by a combination of factors, including the volumetric and planning structure, the significant massiveness of the enclosing structures, the specific features of air exchange, the thermal characteristics of materials, and the operating conditions. Existing methods for analyzing the microclimate of historical buildings do not fully take into account the complex processes of heat and moisture exchange, which limits the ability to accurately predict the dynamics of the internal environment and develop engineering solutions. The purpose of this work is to conduct a comprehensive study of the mechanisms that determine the temperature, humidity, and aerodynamic conditions in the interior of the church, as well as to identify the factors that affect the stability of the microclimate and the preservation of the architectural and artistic decorations. The research tasks include analyzing the heat and moisture exchange processes in the enclosing structures of the church and air environment; identifying areas of local moisture and factors that destabilize the microclimate; developing and justifying recommendations for normalizing the temperature and humidity regime; preventing the degradation of the cultural heritage site and improving the comfort of the parishioners. Results. An instrumental survey of the microclimate of the church was conducted, including the registration of temperature and humidity parameters and the diagnosis of building structures in order to identify deviations from the standard modes. Recommendations were formulated to reduce moisture load and stabilize the internal environment. Conclusions. The scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive comparison of the results of in-situ instrumental temperature and humidity studies, laboratory microstructural analysis of building materials using scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, and numerical air exchange modeling for a single church building, as well as the integration of the in-situ measurement results with a computational model. Spatial heterogeneity in microclimate parameters and zones of increased humidity load on the structures were identified. The results were used to develop recommendations for stabilizing the internal environment and improving the preservation of architectural and decorative features. |
