Abstract. | Problem statement. The bell tower of the Kizichesky Vvedensky Monastery is one of the lost vertical dominants of Kazan, which had a special compositional and urban significance, and were of great interest in planning and stylistic terms. This article is devoted to historical and urban planning research, the object of which is above-noted structure. The aim of this work is to formulate an argument in favor of the need to restore the Kizic Bell Tower. The main objectives of the research are to review historical information about the monastery in general and the bell tower in particular; to study the compositional and planning role of the structure, to analyze its stylistic design; as well as to present the results of landscape and visual analysis. Results. The article attempts to introduce a hypothesis about the potential urban development of the object into scientific circulation. The multifunctionality of the Kizic Bell Tower as a planning element is indicated and the late classical attributes of this structure are revealed. Conclusions. During the analysis, key points were identified that indicate the uniqueness of bell tower of the Kizichesky Vvedensky Monastery. The theses presented in this study can be used in further scientific and restoration justifications. |
