Title of the articleThe potential of project activities in the study of architectural identity
Abstract.The relevance of the article is due to the fact that there are gaps associated with the practical study of architectural identity in the modern educational process aimed at architecture specialty training. The lack of in-depth knowledge and practical skills in this area leads to errors in architectural design, as a result of which the appearance of cities and settlements suffers significantly. The environment arising in the process of the same type of construction is uncomfortable for living and does not fulfill the main role of architecture as an environment reflecting the socio-cultural values of a particular region. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the application of design teaching methods in the study of the architectural identity of cities and rural settlements. The authors propose a model for organizing the project work of architecture students in the study of architectural identity. The article is intended for teachers of higher educational institutions.
