| Abstract. | Problem statement. PATH (road/path), is the largest shopping complex, which plays a big role in the economy and cultural life of the city. The purpose of the article is to study the prerequisites for the emergence of an underground city in the central part of Toronto and the history of its construction. Results. The analysis of theoretical studies made it possible to trace a number of principles for the use of underground areas for the construction of public buildings in cramped urban conditions. Identify the structure of location and interconnections of individual structures with existing land structures, as well as a two-level linkage between public, private transport and pedestrian links Conclusions. The revealed principles of the architectural and spatial organization of such complexes or their separate parts can form the basis for the design of fragments of city structures of megacities. |
