Title of the articleDynamic stability of water-saturated soil masses inwashed areas under seismic actions
Abstract.The foundation soil exposed to different loads. Real dynamic effects on soil foundation during an earthquake are random. For practical calculations of stress-strain state of soil seismic load leads to an equivalent impact on the cyclic loading. To study the dynamic stability of a layer of water-saturated sands from the perspective of evaluation possibilities of their thinning seismic loads corresponding to the design of seismic activity areas, performed laboratory tests. The authors conducted laboratory studies of water-saturated sandy soils under cyclic triaxial loading a specially developed technique. Tests were conducted on samples of artificially prepared soil. Experimental studies have shown patterns of development at an equivalent strain cyclic loading and the nature of fatigue failure of the samples. The results showed that during the application of cyclic loading strains develop at different rates in all stages of the test. It should be noted that the most intensive development of volumetric strain occurred in the early stages of cyclic loading. The magnification depends on the strain rate and magnitude of the applied load. According to the results of a series of experiments established characteristic pattern of destruction of the samples. The authors have formulated the criteria for soil liquefaction. Analysis of the results of experimental studies concluded that when forecasting earthquakes with an intensity of 7,0 points on the MSK 64 soils of the site are considered dynamically stable.
