Title of the articleThe possibility of formation of tent material
Abstract.The article is an analysis of the study of the design tent shells in general, as well as analysis of existing scientific papers related to shaping and cutting of soft shells of negative Gaussian curvature. Listed counterparts of architectural tent structures. Describes the authors proposed a possible method of investigation of tent material, the purpose of which is to determine the formability properties of such materials. The principal objective of the study authors became finding the limit of the mesh angle at which on the fabric begin to form folds, that, in their opinion, will simplify the process of designing a cutting tent shells of double curvature. For this purpose, the authors have tested samples of tent material stretching on the electromechanical tensile machine. The algorithm of the pre-test of the authors. In the above preliminary studies, the authors have determined the geometric parameters of the test pieces of tent materials in order to determine their properties of formability. By the authors as a result of the study revealed the presence of structural alteration in the tent materials that can be used for the design of shells of double curvature overlay networks Chebyshev method for curved surfaces.
