Abstract.Among the famous and technically interesting ways of heat transfer favorably high thermohydraulic, economic and technological qualities of discrete surface roughness of the channels in the form of annular projections. However, in the domestic and foreign practice of design and production of modern power equipment with intensified channels, there are many problems. The article discusses the method of calculating heat transfer and friction on the surface of small grooves with a cross-section to a turbulent flow. Consideration of ways to calculate the transport of heat and momentum can be used in practical thermal – hydraulic calculations. The calculated results are compared with the heat transfer experimental studies and proposes methods for calculating heat transfer and friction in the shallow grooves perpendicular to the impinging turbulent flow of liquid and gas.
