Abstract.The fundamentals of the theory the power resistance to compression anisotropic materials based on the hypothesis that mechanism of destruction, as the process of overcoming resistance to tearing, shear and crushing and describing all stages of components and structures under load. The calculation scheme, reflecting the change of the stress-strain state with increasing operating loads that used to develop methods of calculation: the action of local loads on the plane and solid concrete and reinforced concrete elements, elements of cylindrical shapes, pipe-concrete structures to assess the strength of the end portions of the columns in view the influence of the steel pipe, beams, walls, masonry. First determined and quantitative estimation of the boundary between the destruction directly under the cargo area (from the «collapse» of concrete) and the stress-strain field at a certain distance from it. Used strain diagram, it was found that a systematic approach to the calculation of concrete, reinforced concrete, masonry and reinforced masonry structures and components, based on the use of strain diagrams should be considered as a promising direction of development of the theory of strength of anisotropic materials compression facilitates creation of techniques based on a uniform basis and improving the regulatory documents.
