Title of the articleSurface modification of PVC by epoxy resin functionalized by carbon nanotubes
Abstract.In work the influence of diffusive modification of polyvinylchloride by reactive oligomer (RO) for the purpose of strengthening of a blanket of polymer, durability and increased resistance to various aggressive factors and influences is investigated. As RO the epoxy modified by carbon nanotubes and two types of hardeners (a hot and cold cure) was used. As a result of epoxy diffusion in a matrix of linear polymer and its subsequent curing in the interglobular areas having smaller density of packing of macromolecules and big deficiency, leads to increase in the PVC mechanical properties of samples. In particular surface microhardness to 3 times (in case cure by diethylenetriamine), the dynamic module of elasticity of 1,2 times increases. It was shown that improvement of properties happens at the expense of formation of the strengthened gradient layer of crosslinked polymer to type structure to a semi-interpenetrating networks (semi-IPNs) which is confirmed by reduction of number of sol fraction at extraction in acetone and emergence of two glass transition temperatures corresponding to linear and crosslinked polymer. In addition there is an additional structuring and coordinating effect of carbon nanotubes takes place.
