Title of the articleInfluence of roughness the surface concretes building elements on the damage
Abstract.The author’s experiments established a decrease in bearing capacity in the area of pure bending of naturally-rough cement samples as compared to smooth-surfaced twin samples. Dependence of tensions on the curve of the bent element, as is known from the Theory of Strength of Materials cannot, , provide a way to evaluate the influence of surface roughness on the amount of stress from outer load without a further extension to this approach. Roughness on the surface of the element is a random coordinate function. To describe these functions in concrete, the specific work-tested correlation function [7] was used, while for defining intervals between rugosities, the range between overshoots of a random function was employed. The stress value, adjusted for concrete’s surface roughness, were recommended for estimation on the basis of Palnov’s solution as applied to engineering materials [10]. The presented formulae of relationship between the behavior of roughness in concrete and the mean expectation value, as well as the correlation function of random stress ? operating in the section perpendicular to the surface boundary, allows you to define plane stress condition on a rough element surface.
