| Abstract. | The foreign historiography of several decades of the twentieth and the beginning of present century based on the problem of specific character of the medieval cities of Islamic states is analyzed in the article. The author has brought research on the history of medieval urban development in different regions of Eurasia: Asia Minor, the Near East, Maghreb, Levant, Andalusia, etc. The study of foreign historiography shows the change in the prevailing scientific views on this issue at the present stage. |
