Abstract. | There are several distinctive types of pedestrian motion, but the most significant are functional and social peculiarities of pedestrian motion. The type of the pedestrian motion in architectural environment mainly is defined and supported by stable spatial units, which organize the motion. The competently designed pedestrian spaces, their location and character have an influence on the change and development of new types of behavior in the modern urban environment. The structure of pedestrian motion is divided into five main phases, which are connected with psychological particularities of the perception and interpretation of the space, level of the social control, etc. The most important issues in organization of pedestrian spaces are spatial requirements, defined by elementary types of behavior. |
