Abstract. | Corrosion is one of the most dangerous damaging processes, decreasing efficiency potential of road-building machines. In the corrosion system there happens process of spontaneous metal fracture under the influence of aggressive environment. The process of corrosion damage of machine components generally conforms to regularities of electrochemical kinetics, whereas in real conditions of machines exploitation absence of electrically-conductive environment is rarely observed. Intensity of breakdowns of road-building machines as a result of corrosion depends on a great number of factors diverse by their nature and importance. The major influence on the speed of corrosive process exert nature of metal, materials compatibility in the structure, and environmental properties. For the constituents of road-building machines work-pieces can also become corrosive environment. One of the main objects of developing machines of such type are soils. Soil corrosion takes place under the influence of soil-water. Operative parts of the machines for earthwork are mostly vulnerable to this corrosion type. Regularities, characterizing processes of corrosive break-downs of machinery parts, enable to forecast behavior of damaging process and form the basis for the development of corrosion control methods. Machines performance assurance in terms of corrosive resistance requires realization of the set of actions, which cover all the main stages of machine operating life, i.e. designing, production and exploitation. |
