| Title of the article | Graphic system of Russian icon painting as a universal system of image information about the architectural object |
| Abstract. | The article focuses on image acquisitions of architectural objects in Russian pictorial and graphic arts and analyzes common features and common factors of the images of architectural objects. The analysis of geometric constructions of «backs» of murals, paintings and miniatures, on basis of Raushenbah’s theory can identify a number of patterns of images of architectural objects that form the entourage. On the basis of the analysis which is instantiated, the conclusion about the existence of a clear system of images, which fracture the rules of classical, «direct» perspective can be drawn. Violations of these rules were dictated by the necessity of solving specific graphics tasks that are aimed at the imaging of the most important distinguishing features of architectural monuments. These images were primarily used as instrument of graphic recording of information about the architectural objects. If we add rules of «reading» images borrowed from the Eastern traditions images to qualities of reverse perspective that have been already described above, we will have a powerful visual tool, comparable on its informational characteristics only with modern filming. Thus, the backs of Russian icons can be considered as a kind of a textbook on architectural practice, the reading of which nowadays is fascinating, but extremely difficult. Graphic images of reverse perspective are comparable if we speak about the correctness of the image and substantial amount of information, and even superior all visual tools which exist nowadays on a number of positions. |
