| Abstract. | Special attention has always paid for the city planning because of the dependence of all city life processes. As the development occurs not only in the big cities, we are interested to consider the development of small towns, the life of which is also in demand. And from that small town up to the majority of Russian cities, our studies are also important. We will consider the problem of urban formation of small towns in the Republic of Bashkortostan, on the example of Salavat. The facts about this town testify the continuous dynamics of its development because of the industrial development in its territory. Industrial development leads to improving living standards of people and their demands as well as to housing and to the environment as a whole are increasing. Also, this industry dictates the direction of the living environment because of ecological questions. The combination of several cultures is a unique feature of Bashkortostan architecture and we will try to find out how the different ways of life of people influence the formation of the living environment and give an estimate of its potential for further development, taking into account all the factors that influence this development. Having considered all the issues related to the urban development of the living environment, and to examine existing scientific work concerning the development of the living environment in small towns, we will come to the most optimal way of development of small cities in the region of our study. |
