Abstract. | Last years in the cities of Russia, in particular in Kazan, buildings which structure includes modern building materials and designs, and also elements of a decor of various architectural styles are erected. Development of architectural styles represents the continuous process, each subsequent stage incorporates cultural and technical traditions of the past. Article is devoted to revealing and analysis of separate elements of continuity, to the role of constructive systems in formation and development of architectural styles on an example of architecture of the Western Europe. Throughout centuries in the territory of the Western Europe there is a formation of architecturally-town-planning principles of the organization of space, constructive systems, typology of buildings. One of the primary factors influencing cardinal changes in process of evolution of architecture, occurrence of new building materials and designs serves. The vivid example of it is formation of frame constructive system and Gothic style in XII century, application in architecture of glass and metal in XIX century, occurrence of technical possibilities of erection of unique buildings and constructions now. However it is necessary to notice that throughout two millennia there is a numerous reference of architects to antique sources, use in the products of principles of classical architecture. The return to architecture of the past can be caused now many reasons: aspiration of architects to give to a city the unique individuality partially lost which main criterion is presence in structure of a city of buildings of different epoch; necessity to fill the lost building in a historical part of a city; taste and requirements of customers; search of new directions in architecture. |
