| Abstract. | This article is dedicated to a problem of personal and social environmental safety. In the arcticle the defensive functions of the medieval city, city of the XX centuary and the contemporary city are defined and compared. Several extreme factors, among which are natural cataclizms, global and local military conflics and terrorism, have been revealed and classified.The problem of developing new methods and the new model of the safe city have been stated, based on new technologies corresponding with a contemporary information-oriented society. |
