Abstract. | Gobelin (fr. gobelin) is one of types of arts and crafts, a wall unilateral lint-free carpet with the image of a plot or ornamental composition. The gobelin is carried out manually by cross weaving of threads. For each historical era the subject lines are characteristic: landscapes, still lifes, architectural monuments, copies of pictures of famous artists. The gobelin at the present stage treats new understanding of plasticity of manual weaving. When forming interior space the designer can provide to a gobelin a role of the active composite center of all room. The variety of plots of gobelins is supplemented with various set of formats and proportions. Processing methods are a basis of art process. They define specific features of composition for this type of arts and crafts. For a gobelin the flat image caused by technology of manual weaving is the cornerstone of composition. Formation of composition can be divided into the following stages: the I stage – determination of scale of composition and its perception; the II stage – a plot choice, formation of the main idea of composition; the III stage – stylization of composition; the IV stage – definition of a color scheme for completeness of perception of idea. Illustrative material for creation of composition of a gobelin has to correspond to function of an interior. |
