| Title of the article | Improving the method for calculating distances between ditch trays |
| Abstract. | When calculating and designing the longitudinal and ditch trays of the road drainage system, dependencies based on a uniform water flow regime are currently used. In fact, the movement of water in them is non-uniform with increasing mass along the length of the trays. In addition, it is not taken into account that part of the flow from the longitudinal tray does not enter the ditch tray and enters the next section of the longitudinal tray. To improve the accuracy of calculations, it is necessary to eliminate the disadvantages listed above. The purpose of the study is a comprehensive assessment of the work of longitudinal and ditch trays. The tasks of the study are to develop an existing methodology for determining the distances between water ditch trays and to develop a method for calculating the distances between the ditch trays, taking into account the non-uniform flow movement. Results. A method has been developed for calculating the distances between ditch trays, which is based on a joint solution in finite differences of the equation of non-uniform motion of a liquid with increasing mass and the equation of continuity. The calculated distances between ditch trays for roads of technical categories I and II have been determined. Conclusions. The use of the proposed calculation method will reduce the risk of flooding of the reinforced section of the road shoulder and even the roadway. |
