| Title of the article | Design of steel structures taking into account the cost parameters of rolled metal products |
| Abstract. | The design of steel structures, despite its importance in modern architecture and construction, faces challenges related to fluctuating prices for rolled metal products and the need to ensure cost efficiency. Against the backdrop of growing demands for the specificity of construction solutions, as well as the need to comply with codes and standards, the goal has been set to develop methods for integrating the cost indicators of rolled metal products across all design stages. The following tasks have been formulated: identifying characteristic trends in the cost and range of rolled metal products, as well as developing design methods and finding design solutions that will produce a metal frame with the best cost characteristics. Using optimization methods and tools, including the Scipy library and the Python programming language, it is proposed to represent the cross-sectional area of load-bearing structures as a continuous function of one or two arguments. Based on the analysis of a large data set, the distribution of prices for key rolled metal products is determined. Results. Big data processing enabled the development of a methodology for determining the cost of a structural solution. This methodology identifies the price distribution for key types of rolled metal products, enabling design optimization not only for minimal steel consumption but also for minimal cost. Conclusions. Using this approach contributes to the creation of more cost-effective, efficient, and competitive steel structure designs. |
