Title of the article | Investigation of the process of wastewater treatment from soluble peroxide compounds of production of styrene and propylene oxide |
Abstract. | Problem statement. The aim of the study is to study the process of decomposition of peroxide compounds with the presence of alkaline reagents in the composition of wastewater in the production of styrene and propylene oxide, which increase the efficiency of biodegradation of wastewater. Results. On the basis of the existing petrochemical plant, the processes of decomposition of peroxide compounds were studied by adding alkaline reagents to industrial wastewater, which initially had an acidic reaction medium. A stable decrease in the concentration of peroxides in wastewater was established during chemical pre-treatment prior to the supply of effluents to bioremediation plants. Conclusions. The significance of the results obtained for the construction industry is to establish the need to apply chemical methods for wastewater treatment of the existing petrochemical plant before submitting the prepared effluents for biological treatment. The decomposition of peroxides in acidic waste is possible by alkalizing it. The concentration ratio of the decomposition of peroxides is 1:1. Increasing the reaction temperature of peroxide decomposition to 100 оC significantly increases the cleaning efficiency. |
