Title of the article | A look at the problems and prospects of nuclear power |
Abstract. | The end of the XXth and the beginning of the XXIst century were marked by large technogenic and natural cataclysms (Chernobyl, Sajano-Shushinskaja hydroelectric power station, Fukushima-1, etc.). The constant exhaustion of natural stocks of hydrocarbonic sources puts a topical problem before scientists and experts – to find reliable replacement by long-term prospect to decreasing power resources. Atomic energy has been offered as the last; available powerful advantages (the highest power consumption exceeding power consumption of chemical fuel in thousand of time, absence of requirement for atmospheric air). But the nuclear fuel possesses essential lacks: - potential possibility of failures with catastrophic consequences; - a dangerous nuclear waste; - complexity of liquidation of nuclear object; - nuclear energy, as well as a source of distribution of the nuclear weapon; - availability to terrorism; E. Teller, one of developers of the nuclear weapon of the future with space basing has declared that the next decades, all land atomic power stations can become supervulnerable objects from the future weapon, and demanded only underground placing of a nuclear reactor. Not in favor of development of nuclear power the developer and the founder of a hydrogen bomb A.D. Sakharov, and also a number of other outstanding scientists acted. As an exception, temporarily they supposed nuclear energy use in an underground variant. |
