Abstract. | The relevance of the sustainable development of modern urban environments while preserving the historical and cultural urban landscapes of historical cities in Russia meets the socio-cultural needs of rapidly developing societies in the XXI century. The main task of the study is to explore the potential for developing former industrial areas and facilities located in the center of historical Russian cities. This development should take into account the preservation of cultural heritage, the promotion of social and cultural activities, and the establishment of a creative urban environment. The goal is to create a space that will be attractive to investors and contribute to the future well-being of the citys citizens, particularly the younger generation. The object of research is the industrial heritage of the historical center of Tula, including both public spaces such as the embankment and private buildings. The transformation of the historical and cultural heritage of Tula has entered an active phase in the early decades of the XXI century, taking into account modern socio-cultural needs and the principles of urban ecology and cognitive urbanism. The preservation of Russias cultural heritage is a priority in the modern development of Russian society. It is an important part of our national identity, and it helps to ensure the continuity between generations. Research methods: a systematic analysis of industrial heritage sites with a comprehensive assessment of the competitiveness of implemented projects of redevelopment of industrial territories with historical heritage. The main results of the study represent a systematic approach and theoretical analysis of materials that demonstrate an integrated approach to the restoration of historical heritage at both the planning and site levels. The significance of the results lies in the search for optimal solutions to create a creative urban environment. This involves testing the principles of creative industry development on real cultural heritage sites in order to effectively use former industrial territories that have lost their functional purpose. The relevance of the sustainable development of modern urban environments while preserving the historical and cultural urban landscapes of historical cities in Russia meets the socio-cultural needs of rapidly developing societies in the XXI century. |
