Title of the article | Principles of architectural space organization for children with disabilities |
Abstract. | Problem statement. One of the most important social problems in the world is considered to be the inadequate standard of living and social activity of children with disabilities. Disabled children are divided into groups according to nosologies, each of which has its own characteristics of perception of the environment. The space should be healing, it should guide the child and bring up. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to formulate principles for organizing a comfortable space for children with disabilities, as well as to investigate the influence of architectural space on the emotional state of children with special needs. Results. During the study of the impact of space on children with disabilities, the basic principles of the formation of an ideal space of accessible architecture were formed and an ideal model of «good» spaces for children’s development, communication and recreation was created. Conclusions. The significance of the research results consists in identifying the principles of organizing space for children with developmental disabilities, which can become the basis for creating comfortable conditions for children with disabilities, increase the significance of this problem and contribute to improving the standard of living and social activity of children with disabilities in society. The principles outlined in this article can guide the creation of social, inclusive centers for children. |
