Title of the articleStrength and deformation of sandy soils under triaxial cyclic loading
Abstract.Ground base foundations of buildings and structures, as well as roads and railways also are exposed to different static cyclic loading. For the experimental study of the deformability and strength of sandy soil when subjected to cyclic loads and to establish some regularities in the laboratory of the Department of Soil base of foundations, structural dynamics and engineering geology of KSUAE a series of tests in the pneumatic system stabilometr «ACIS» were held. According to the results of cyclic tests in a triaxial test camera stabilometr type graphic dependences of the relative vertical deformation, volume strain, linear and volumetric deformation of the modules on the number of loading cycles were obtained. The obtained results of experimental studies have established the basic laws of linear and volumetric strain of soil units of linear and volumetric strain changes in the strength of sandy soil in different modes of triaxial cyclic loading. The analysis of the results of a series of tests allowed to establish the dependence of the strength of samples of sandy soil under cyclic triaxial loading on the number of cycles to failure.
