Abstract. | Popularity and the importance of the leader of the American pop art Andy Warhol defines a variety of its interests: painting, producing, literary activity, organization and registration of substandard spaces. The last in this list can be considered as area of architectural creativity. It is obvious that «The silver factory» (1963-1967) became Warhol's most considerable spatial experiment. Being guided by the description of «Factory» given by the artist in the texts, certificates of contemporaries, judgments of modern commentators, the author investigates this art space as at the same time real and psychological. Nature of collective work on transformation of one of floors of the former industrial building defines a method of scenario and decorative modeling. The world of images of the artist, his interests, visions of reality finds expression in subject filling of a workshop. Examples of similar spaces of different years are given: workshop of the French artist impressionist E. Manet, the multipurpose art center of the Catalan architect R. Bofill, the Russian art platforms which have arisen in the last decade.
