Title of the article | Forming potential of the design methods of the architect R. Yamamoto |
Abstract. | Japan architect Riken Yamamoto – the author of numerous projects, and text-manifesto «Cell City». Analysis of the structures described in this text, the sources, content value and the possibility of using methods of the master in teaching design – a subject the consideration of this work. The basic unit of residential structures Yamamoto – a house-to-cell. Planning decision of this House is determined by the principles of neighborhood and connectedness. He demonstrates these principles as in work on multi-family housing complex, so in work on little individual dwelling house. The connecting elements of cellular structures are the pavement, transition bridge, stairs, public space (room, yard, garden). Spatial relationships express the relationship between the individual and society. Instead of the traditional scheme of «society – family – the individual» architect offers another – «society –the individual – family». Morphogenesis in this context is seen as a program to create conditions for realization of the ever-changing human needs. The Master combines the phenomenological (the system is «a barrier – incentive ») and composite (overlay networks) methods of shaping. It creates space («fusion works of architecture, things and events») are similar to the space of a traditional Japanese garden (a collection of pieces, impossible to consider one point). Collective work of students and teachers by the method of Yamamoto ensures the forming skills of dialogic thinking. The principles of communication in a group of like-minded principles and the formation are similar – to assemble the common parts of the cell. |
