| Abstract. | The situation with strategic territorial planning in Russia at present is considered in the article. The comparative assessment of approaches to territorial planning, from regional strategy to unified system of planning organization of the whole country, and conversely, from the general concept of the territorial development of Russia to macroregions and lower scale level administrative territorial units, is conducted. It is observed that territorial planning is more effective to realize in the borders of territories with united economic, historical, cultural and climatic community, rather than in relative borders of the regions of the federation or municipal formations. |
