| Title of the article | Gardening of tram ways |
| Abstract. | In recent years in the European cities it is possible to see the tram moving on a lawn. Since the end of the last century in Europe started planting trees and shrubs tram ways. Residents of the large cities felt effect from such decision at once. First, noise level decreased. Secondly, air temperature went down. Thirdly, the amount of dust decreased. Fourthly, the volume of storm waters on the carriageway was reduced. The tram ways occupied with lawns had positive impact on ecology of an urban environment. As the vegetation is a habitat of some species of insects. Thus, gardening of tram ways carries out some functions – removal of storm waters, absorption of noise and reduction of environmental pollution. All these factors, in total, increase appeal of such cities not only among the population, but also among the tourists visiting them. |
