Title of the articlePredicting the lifetime of the exterior walls of residential buildings by the criterion of the thermal protection
Abstract.The exterior walls are an important part of the buildings, which should provide a comfortable environment in the premises during lifetime of the building. Currently, however, the project does not have a set of methods to evaluate the service life of building envelope, although this information should be included in the design documentation of buildings and structures according to the «Technical regulations on safety of buildings and structures» (2009). This paper describes a method of prediction the lifetime of the exterior walls of residential buildings, developed by the authors. The method is based on determining the time of operation, for which the total thermal resistance of the external wall will be less than the required resistance to heat transfer by the current Regulations. The operating time is determined on the basis of the kinetic theory of aging of heat insulating layer by using basic parameters of the durability of materials: activation energy and durability indicator under thermal aging. The article justifies the estimating of the mode of operation in which insulation material is aging in exterior walls, by the equivalent temperatures in sections of insulation material.
