Title of the articleGeometrical modelling of difficult surfaces of spring-twisted channels of heat exchange devices
Abstract.One of the ways of intensification of heat exchange is to create a compact heat exchanger elements, allowing to provide the required heat transfer coefficients under conditions of high heat flux. This article describes a method for constructing surfaces of channels of various geometric configurations. Particular attention is paid to the spring-twisted channels, with the prospects of their use in the design and development of modern heat-exchange equipment. The proposed method allows us to describe and construct surfaces for arbitrary generators and guide curves, using the vector-matrix unit. By varying the parameters in the mathematical model of the surface, we can investigate and optimize the internal geometry of the channels, describe the pipe coil configuration with a different pitch and helix angle of winding. The proposed method is illustrated with several examples. We construct a surface with a guide in the form of an arc of a circle, spiral lines, round and triangular cross-section. The use of Matlab package for visualization of the received models of surfaces is demonstrated. Geometric models for describing the surface of the spring-twisted channels that can be used as a heat exchange element of a broad class of modern heat-exchange equipment are developed.
