Title of the articleOn the history of interior decoration
Abstract.Aim of this study was to analyze the major styles of interior decoration. The manifestation of innovation and creativity in the work of architects in the design and interior decoration of buildings. Based on the analysis addressed the main architectural styles are: Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, medieval Gothic, Classicism, Baroque, Rococo, Empire, Eclectic and Modern. It was during these periods of embellishment especially influenced design of internal and external decoration. Abundantly used in floral designs, blending different finishing materials (wood, metal and ivory furniture in the decision), houses of worship for the murals an inspiration, as a rule, served as the religious themes and in private houses, palaces, excerpts from the daily life of military paraphernalia or objects brought from the conquered territories and travel. The analysis identified the most common methods in the applied arts, particularly those that have changed with the development of science and of man as a creative unit. Here are some of them – painted surfaces (the plane of the walls, furniture, glass and cloth), carving on wood, stone, ivory, active use of textiles, jewelry, glass work (stained art, and other grezal) with metal (stamping, casting, engraving, forging), as well as pottery. Many of them evolved and stepped into the «machine» at the end of XIX century. In conclusion we can say that the decor as a set of techniques for decorating interior decoration has always existed. Methods of design have always existed – the primitive in the primitive society as well as advanced techniques at present. Embellishment developed in parallel with the discoveries and inventions. The most important breakthrough occurred in the late XIX century, when Modern was born. Art Nouveau as the design direction clearly defined the concept of art and craft. Modern has become a springboard, where the major upheavals and when the industrial revolution to the design in the late XIX and early XX century have occurred.
