Title of the articleDeep foundanion’s ground bases’ bearing capacity evaluation
Abstract. In our days the deficit of territory in big cities results in the fact that buildings are growing not only upwards but also downwards and more of underground space is used during the construction. Underground stores are combining foundation and utility spaces’ functions (such as trade centers, parkings etc.). When deep foundations are built, in order to prevent its influence on existing buildings, slurry wall is installed deeper below foundation slab level. On this level, slurry wall is changing conditions of ground deformability by contacting it. To define conditions of deflected mode of ground bases of deep foundations, 3 series of deep foundation models were conducted. The load is distributed between deep foundation’s walls and foundation slab. Deformations of ground bases occur under the influence of load that is transferred to foundation. Vertical displacements of ground surface were measured with precision of 0.01mm. Ground sensors are used to define stresses in soil massive. Readings were taken using strain gauge station. Experiments show that most strain increments occur just below the foundation slab and under the slurry wall of deep foundation model. While load on foundation base increases, part of the load that is taken by foundation slab increases, while side surface bearing capacity decreases, which is explained by development of dense zones in the sides of foundation model.
Keywords.Deep foundation, deflected mode, settlement, bearing capacity, dense zone.
